Your Teacher – Heidi Stodola
It all began in my grandma’s garden when I was a little girl, taking our evening stroll through her garden to see which flowers were in bloom and learning the names of each variety, including her favorite, Zinnias. My first perennial garden was made up of cuttings from hers.
Throughout my career as a flight attendant & travels around the world, I managed to slip into the little boutiques & flower shops to see and study unique ways to design & display flowers from Amsterdam’s famous floating Flower Market (Bloemenmarkt) to Shanghai’s French Concession (& many places in-between!). Acquiring an in-depth knowledge of plants, flowers, and herbs combined with a natural eye for decorating & design is what led me to eventually becoming a floral designer on the East Coast.
I recently relocated to beautiful Door County with my husband & West Highland Terrier, Chloe.
Flowers are my passion, from gardening to fresh arrangements. I enjoy being surrounded by beauty and look forward to sharing my talents & creating something pretty during our floral workshops at The Savory Spoon.
