On Friday, October 8 at 6 pm, the Savory Spoon Cooking School of Ellison Bay will offer “Harvest Meals,” featuring fall flavors at their best. Using fresh vegetables from Horsley Gardens and North Bay Road Farms in Sister Bay, participants will prepare Saganaki with sauté of honey crisp on greens, leeks and potatoes, schnitzel will black olive crust, and sweet potato tart will red wine caramel.
On Thursday, October 14 at 6 pm, the school will offer “The Savory Side.” Participants of this class will prepare hearty and savory pies including root vegetable and mushroom mini pies, lamb and eggplant Sheppard’s pie, Moroccan chicken pie, and more.
On Friday, October 15 at 6 pm, the school will offer “Bistro 101.” Participants will learn to infuse oil, marinate mushrooms, and pickle vegetables. The menu includes marinated mushrooms, jicama salad with candied pecans, butternut squash and aged cheddar bread pudding, stuffed salmon, and honeyed walnut tart.
