School is in full swing at the Savory Spoon Cooking School and is featuring a variety of enticing classes in August.
Savory Spoon will educate young students the tricks and techniques to making homemade pasta and preparing a delicious sauce from the fresh vegetables and herbs grown on the Hidden Acres Farm. The “Kids Class” will be held Aug. 16 at 9 am. Students will receive instruction in organic farming, basic knife skills and cooking techniques and leave with the confidence and recipes to help them grow and prepare food in their own homes and backyards.
On Aug. 20 at 9:30 am, join Rachel Lohman, owner of Drink Coffee in Sister Bay, for “Dream of Buttery Croissants,” as she will show participants the secrets of making these delicious French pastries at home in this hands-on class. They’ll have the chance to roll and shape your own croissants and take some home to share.
