Join Savory Spoon Cooking School on July 24 at 9:30 am for a jam session. Door County is all about cherries and what better way to celebrate than by seeing the cherry processing in action. The morning will start at the Cooking School, learning to make cherry jam with Lisa Seaquist from Seaquist Canning Co.
Then a visit to Seaquist Orchards Processing plant to see how cherries are pitted and processed, and on to Seaquist Orchards Canning Kitchen to see how they make thousands of jars each year. Participants will bring home their own Door County cherry jam.
On July 20 at 9:30 am, the school will offer an opportunity to learn the art of making a great pie with Cathy Mazurek of Sweetie Pies. Learn the techniques used for making flaky crust, a crumb pie and how to make lattice. Participants will go home with their very own pie.
